This season, for the first time, direct signings have been permitted in The Hundred.
Teams in the men's and women's competitions will be able to sign one new overseas player by Deadline Day on February 24.
Laura Wolvaardt and Amelia Kerr have been confirmed as The Hundred's first-ever direct signings, joining Southern Brave and Manchester Originals respectively. Jos Buttler, Charlie Dean, Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, Marizanne Kapp, Tymal Mills, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Hayley Matthews have all been retained by their teams.
Charlie Dean, who lifted the trophy as part of London Spirit's team in 2024, said: "August is fast becoming one of the best months of the summer. The Hundred has developed into an excellent competition, we play in front of fantastic crowds and even from the middle you get a sense of how the crowd is so full of families and young people.
"The cricket itself is high quality, the format is accessible and quick, and we're all really looking forward to getting back to it and hopefully defending our title."

How do matches work?
- One hundred balls a side, the team with the most runs wins. It is as simple as that.
- Five bowlers can bowl up to 20 balls in an innings, including five or 10 in a row.
- The traditional six-ball overs seen in other forms of cricket are not used in The Hundred, with 10 balls bowled before a change of ends.
- The powerplay is for the first 25 balls of an innings, with only two fielders allowed outside the 30-yard circle.
- A 25-ball-a-side game is the minimum length that can be played in the event of wet weather.
- If a match in the knockout stages is tied, a Super 5 will be played, with the winner being the team scoring the most runs from a further five balls each.
